Getting started for students Canon NL July 13, 2026 13:29 Updated As a student at UvA, there are several ways you can send a print job and print on any Canon printer. The fastest way is to upload a file in the print portal. You do not need to install anything for this. Discover more ways to send a print job. Step 1: Ensure you have sufficient print creditStudents need credit to print and copy. Scanning is free. You can buy printing credit via MyNetPay or at one of the physical top-up points. Step 2: Send a print job Go to print.uva.nl Click on [Log in with your UvAnetID], enter your credentials and click on [Log in]. You will receive a verification code via email. Enter this code to confirm your identity (two-step verification). Click on [Log in]. Click on the [PRINT] tab. Upload your file under [Upload files]. Step 3: Log in to a Canon printerYou can log in using your UvA student card, the Campus Print app on your phone, or a temporary PIN. Find out how to log in. Important! The default language of the printers is English. To change this to Dutch, click at the bottom of the login screen. Always change the language before logging in to the printer. If you do this while printing the job, the printer will freeze.Always log out when you're done. The printer doesn't automatically log out until 2 minutes have passed. During that time, other users can see your print jobs and print them. Step 4: Print out your print job After logging in, you will be taken to the Home screen. Tap [Secure Print]. You can now see the print queue.Tap the file(s) you want to print. Tap [Refresh] if your job is not yet visible. You can change the print settings per file through [Options]. Tap [Print + Delete]. Tap [Log Out] or place your card on the card reader.Important: If you do not log out, the printer will only log out automatically after 2 minutes. During that time, other users may be able to see and print your jobs. So always make sure you log out yourself.
