Install “FollowMe Printing” on a self-managed Mac

Are you an employee with an UvA computer that you manage yourself? If so, you can download and install the “FollowMe-printing” print queue yourself. This allows you to easily send print jobs via the internet, regardless of your location. 
 

Important before you start:

• Make sure you are logged in to print.uva.nl
• Do you still have the old version on your computer? Please remove it to avoid selecting the wrong printer.

1. Download FollowMe-printing for Mac here.
2. Go to your Downloads folder and double-click the downloaded file. 
   
   
    
3. [SmartClientMac] appears. Click it to open it.  
   
   
    
4. The SmartClientForMac.pkg file is now visible. 
   Control-click (or right-click) on the file > select [Open With] → select [Installer (default)].
   
   
    
5. The installation program starts. Click [Continue].
   
   
    
6. Click [Install].
   
   
    
7. Enter your username and password and click [Install].
   
   
    
8. When the installation is finished, click [Close].
   
   
    
9. You can now delete the installer on your computer.
   
   
    
10. To delete, click [OK].
    
    
     
11. After installation, this pop-up will appear. Click [Continue with UvA Login]. 
    
     
12. Enter your UvAnetID and passworkd.
     
13. Click [Log in to uniFLOW Online].
    
    
    
    You then get this message:
    
    
     
14. Click [Start] to start the printer.
